God called Rev. Pickett to preach the gospel to His people. Under the auspices of 
Rev. Jesse Moorer, Pastor of Voice
Center, Tinton Falls, N. J., he was licensed to preach in
1990. In 1992, he was led to New Light Baptist Church, Cliffwood, NJ, whose pastor was the late Rev. Edward Jones. There he served as assistant to Rev. Jones. In February 1996, as God continued to lift him to newer heights, he directed Rev. Pickett to Victory Life Changing Ministries at Calvary, Vauxhall, NJ. There he served as assistant to Pastor Richard J. Pollard.
He received his Associate of Ministry Degree from IMI Bible College & Seminary in Vista, CA in March 1995. In June 1995, he received a diploma in Religious Education from the Monmouth Bible Institute in Howell, NJ. Rev. Pickett also received a Bachelors of Theology from the Andersonville Baptist Seminary in Camilla, GA in February 1998.
As Rev. Pickett continued daily growing in the Lord, walking in faith and believing God for all things, the Lord once again moved in his life. In May 1997, he became the interim pastor of Wicker Memorial Baptist Church. On March 28, 1998, in accordance to the will of God, Rev. Pickett was installed as Pastor of the church .
